Despite the suffocating blockade and the ongoing, unprecedented starvation war affecting over two million people in Gaza, Wafaa Al-Mohsenin Charity has successfully distributed 2,500 vegetable baskets to displaced and affected families. This comes as part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to ease the impact of the famine that has gripped the strip for months.
Where did the baskets come from? All the baskets were sourced from local agricultural production — specifically from the few remaining farmlands still able to endure within Gaza, under extreme conditions of bombardment, destruction, and scarce resources.
Skyrocketing prices A basket that used to cost no more than $10 before the war is now priced at nearly $90, due to
the blockade and severe shortage of crops. This has turned the simple act of obtaining vegetables into a daily struggle for besieged families.
Thank you to those who continue to care… and an open call to keep going We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who still believes that the people of Gaza have a right to a dignified life — to everyone who has strived and contributed to putting food in the mouths of the hungry, despite all the obstacles.
The road ahead is long, and the need is greater than ever. Let’s keep going… because every vegetable basket delivered today is a message of life and hope in a time of death and siege.
