Wafaa Al-Mohsenin Charity implemented an urgent humanitarian intervention in the Gaza Strip by purchasing and distributing the entire Molokhia crop cultivated on a 3,000-square-meter area in western Khan Younis. This initiative benefited 1,500 displaced families living under extremely difficult conditions.
This intervention was a response to the rapidly deteriorating food situation in the Strip, as thousands of families suffer from severe shortages of basic necessities and skyrocketing prices, amid an ongoing blockade and complete closure of border crossings.
Despite the importance of the project, the organization confirmed it was not possible to include bread with the molokhia meals due to its near-total disappearance from markets in recent days — a stark reflection of the catastrophe residents are facing.
Famine indicators in Gaza have become real and tangible, especially over the past 72 hours, with an increasing number of families unable to secure even a single meal per day, while purchasing power has completely collapsed.
In light of this catastrophic reality, Wafaa Al-Mohsenin Charity renews its urgent call to generous donors and supporting entities to aid emergency relief efforts in Gaza and help provide the bare minimum of food and water for afflicted families.
